F. A. Q

------

What do you expect from applicants?

Our full application guidelines will be released at the end of the Interest Chek.
------

What is the theme of this zine?

This zine is a general horror zine centered around BNHA characters. Aus are allowed, and included, within that but popular AUs (IE: Saw; zombies; etc) will be limited for the sake of the zine's diversity. The goal of the mod team is to make a creative and diverse zine full of all different types of horror.

------

What is the definition of 'Horror' that this zine is using?

I feel like this quote from Stephen King explains it the best:
“The 3 types of terror:

The Gross-out: the sight of a severed head tumbling down a flight of stairs, it's when the lights go out and something green and slimy splatters against your arm.

The Horror: the unnatural, spiders the size of bears, the dead waking up and walking around, it's when the lights go out and something with claws grabs you by the arm.

And the last and worse one:
Terror
, when you come home and notice everything you own had been taken away and replaced by an exact substitute. It's when the lights go out and you feel something behind you, you hear it, you feel its breath against your ear, but when you turn around, there's nothing there...” [Stephen King]

For the purposes of this zine, all three of these definitions fall under the zine’s theme.
-----

Is this in any way related to the last BNHA Horror zine?

Nope! Our zine is in no way affiliated with or related to the previous BNHA horror zine, Fright Night. In fact our zine is distinct from Fright Night in that we are aiming to have much darker content. We are allowing gore, psychological horror, and other concepts often labeled as dead dove into the physical zine. Anything explicitly sexual along with more explicit torture type stuff would go into a potential pdf add-on. (The Add-on will be polled for on our interest check.)

------

Where are the zine profits going?

The zine is for-profit. The profit for the zine will be split evenly between all mods and contributors.

------

Will there be rejection emails sent out?

Yes. The zine social media will also make a post when emails are done being sent out so that you may contact the mods if you applied and didn't receive one.

------

How old do applicants need to be?

Due to the for-profit nature of the main zine and the mature content it will contain, the moderation team asks if all applicants are above the US age of majority (18) at the time of application. For when applications start, please refer to the schedule.

------

Is this zine physical or digital?

The zine is physical with a harder horror and explicit sexual content digital add-on.

------

How will contributors be compensated?

At minimum all contributors will receive a digital bundle. Our goal is full bundle compensation for all but if funds do not allow then contributors may purchase all items at production price.

If contributors do not wish to receive physical compensation then they may opt for solely monetary compensation.

If the zine exceeds an amount of profit beyond break-even (all contributors receiving physical compensation) then the remaining profits will be divided equally among contributors and moderators.

------

Can I apply with traditional art/make traditional art for the zine?

Yes.

If you apply with traditional art samples, know that you will be judged on how well your samples are digitized as a part of the selection process.

Traditional art may be allowed into the zine provided the scanning and/or photography of the art piece is done well.

Like all digital art the final DPI of any traditional piece, once digitized, must be 300.

------
Who is doing finances for the zine?

The other mods will be overseeing the finance work done by our Finance Intern Lux. Production work (Sourcing manufacturers, procuring quotes, etc) will be done by Mod Rivkae.
